3 Reasons Zombies Always Win!

Zombie Death

Recently I had one of those nights of sleep that leaves you wondering all day awake. I had a zombie dream. I have never had one of those before now. They were everywhere. Zombies are hard to beat. True to a good action horror flick, there was some major zombie butt-kicking going on. But zombies are no easy opponent. They always win! Sure I was kicking, hitting, slapping, shooting and blowing up some zombies. In fact I was so good at it that I got too comfortable. In the beginning I was only around one other person and we were doing well keeping them away. By the end of the dream, after several good surprise attacks and victories; I found my self surrounded by women. They were all friendly like a cocktail party. I remember one of them licking my wrist while they all laughed. It kind of tickled and I was puzzled by her purpose. Then they all started and all changed into zombies at the same time. Needless-to-say, I didn't make it to the last bite. I fought but the scene faded to black. I don't think I made it. The alarm went off. SO I was ejected from the dream just as I died. I was hoping the next night would be of me as a zombie; but no such luck. No dreams. Zombies always win and here's why:

1) Zombies are persistent! There is no outrunning the zombies. In spite of walking 1 mph; they still manage to catch up with you running at full tilt. Besides, wherever you are going is where they already are. How do you beat that? There is something to be learned from this kind of persistence I suppose. Take a slow steady pace, no speeding!

2) Zombies are focused! There is no mistaking the purpose of zombies. They eat brains of living people. That's their only purpose. They don't want to dance, sing or be friends. They only want your brains. Its that single-mindedness that always sees them through to their goal. Of course, how does something dead digest something living? or why would something dead even need to eat? or why would something dead be living? Ok; it just the movies.

3) Zombies are dead! They have nothing to lose. You cant kill them completely. They always get back up; which is good for all of us to keep in mind. Move over Bob Dole; viagra has a new spokesman. OK; don't know where that came from and wont stop it from going away. The greatest villain is one that has nothing to lose. All the bargaining chips are nullified. You cant buy off a zombie, reason with a zombie or seduce a zombie…just blast 'em.

The Ugly Duck Is BACK!!!

bad duck

I have been floating on a distant pond of wonder and discovery with no words that I have shared outloud. How does a duck become a chicken? How does a duck become a lion? What does that mean for the rest of the world? When a duck's against the wall, he comes out blastin'!!!

Well they say if you stand still long enuf, your whole life comes back around. In the past months I have been reacquainted with old friends from high school. Since I updated my classmates.com site, I have, for whatever reason this month, heard from several folks. The good news is that they have all been folks I actually liked.

Its easy to wonder where the time went and how everything got so spread apart. The part that is always inescapeble is "change." Isn't it always "you havent changed a bit" or youve changed so much! One might argue that the core never changes. One might argue that the eyes never lie. Well I dont know if either of those statements are ALWAYS true; in fact, I seriously doubt it. There are things behind my eyes that were never there before. There are lines in my face that were never there before. There are thoughts behind these smiles that I would have never conceived of before now. Am I the same...no. Do I look the same....no. Do I feel the same inside or out.......no. Time changes everything and everything changes. I say memories are the "perfect" of our lives. In the mirror of memories we dont argue with ourselves, we dont disagree about the course of action, we dont turn away in modesty or shyness...... In "memories" we did exactly what we ought to have done and the universe was behind us with its unswaying approval. I would rather fight monsters than memories; at least they bleed. But irregardless, lets have a brew and talk about it or better yet, not.

Well this ole duck has seen a few ponds in his day. I suspect he will see plenty more inspite of diving only in his private lake. The world is thirsty even with a full glass in its hand. The disconnect between what is and what must is always held at bay by an elbow. The beauty of being an ugly duckling is that noone sees you coming when its time to quack.

The Distace Between Souls

How does one measure what has weight, density and volume but as invisible as the air itself. Some might even argue that no such thing is real; its all subjective and has no merit in a scientific technology-mad world. Is it spiritual/mystical; relegated to only a world of just believing?

For those who know, you understand. Its a story as old as time. Some people are as familiar as time is old. It is as if they have always been. Some people become as if they always were; others are just born that way I guess. Either way, you know it when you got it or miss it. The distance between souls is quite a picture for the mind.

There are priceless things around us that hopefully we are paying attention to and nurturing. The physical distance between objects is often in direct contradiction to the actual metaphysical distance. If my sweety was away; I know that mentally she can be reached in the blink of an eye. No, we're not talking about memory; we're talking quantum.

How do we crosss time and space in an instant? Have we been here before? Will we be here again? Is "all the time" going on "now"?

Foul Intentions!

Ever experienced an incident where somebody set you up; but you slipped through and they got caught in the trap lain for you?

Thats funny, isnt it. I like seeing people get what's coming to 'em, don't you. As a nerd with nerd memories, there are probably more than you can count. There is this point that the universe seems to remember you're here and starts to make up for its amnesia the long terrible decades before. One of the ideal things about being one of the ostracised is that you have plenty of time to study. You study people, planet and self. Then the light flickers in the darkness.

The mystery of humanity lies in the understanding of its darkness. In the darkness all the reflections are the same; dark!
